Attn: Mike Badner – Williams Homes
24911 Avenue Stanford
Santa Clarita, CA 91355
Dear Mike Badner,
Northwestern Energy is willing and able to provide natural gas and electric service to the Northwest
Crossing Phase 2, which includes both single family homes and condo style units. These services can
be provided in accordance with applicable Montana Public Services rules and regulations and the
current Northwestern Energy tariff schedule. Please note that the nearest natural gas is along Harvest
Parkway. The nearest electric is accessible from existing junction cans within Phase 1 of the subdivision,
however further electrical installation will be required to complete an alternate feed to the overhead lines
along Baxter Ln.
Northwestern Energy shall determine the locations of all transformers, underground lines and equipment
to provide for maintenance and installation. These facilities shall be located on front lot lines in a
minimum 10’ wide utility easement. Northwestern Energy will require a 10 ft. wide utility easement along
Cottonwood Rd. for installation of a 600A electric line. The installation cost of the 600A gear will be
borne by Northwestern Energy and is intended to benefit the system as a whole. The gas distribution
infrastructure will be able to serve typical residential loads (300MBH) based on the preliminary
subdivision layout. Any gas loads above this may require additional upgrades to the system including a
district gas regulator station. Please provide the anticipated gas load for this project at your earliest
convenience to determine any potential upgrades to the gas infrastructure.
Please call or email me if you have any questions or concerns at 406-224-2011. Also, we require having
a copy of the approved plat of this proposed area prior to providing a cost to bring in these services. If
installation is required prior to approval of the plat, it will be your responsibility to keep us informed of
any changes which would alter our utility design and installation. To request a cost estimate we would
also require a signed application for new service along with an electronic layout of the subdivision.
Sincerely,
Jacob Farwell
