As far as we are concerned, you can put them on a proposed preliminary plat for instance. They won't be "official" until
something is recorded with them on it, whether that is a plat, or condo declarations or something like that. The City will
have the final say because they do the addressing in the City.

Hello Bryan,
I am trying to catch up on all of your correspondence and create a file, so just to follow up:
These are all fine except Cornerstone. We already have one of those.
CGFReFsteRe
Touchstone
Gladstone
Capstone
Homeward
Homestand
Haven
These along with your prior list of:
Wildwood
Briarwood
Headspring

...would be fine. I have a copy of the plat you sent over. It appears from the plat, and the response from the City of
Bozeman, that the roads that you will get to choose a name for are the ones you marked "Heritage", "Marketplace",
"Homestead" and "Madison".And we already have all of those. Is that your understanding as well?
F you would please let me know which of the above names you'd like me to add to our"Reserved" list, I'm happy to do
that.
I apologize for all the back and forth emails last week. I've was out of the office a bit.
Thanks for your patience!
Jenny

If the City requires that those road names continue through your development, they are the same road and the unique
name policy would not apply to those roads. If it did, then a road would change names at every development and that
would create problems for navigation.
Ne encourage family names. Many people enjoy naming the roads after their kids/grandkids too. We discourage animal
names(Bear, Horse, Elk) and geographic features (Hyalite, Bridger, Storm Castle).
Best,
Dylan

Subject: Northwest Crossing Road Naming
Hello Frank,
Thank you for the quick reply. Attached is the plat for Northwest Crossing(NWX). In my attached correspondence with
Kellen Gamradt with the City of Bozeman, he indicated that Rosa Way,Abigail Lane and Twin Lakes would need to be
carried from the adjoining subdivision into NWX,which doesn't help me with a unique naming scheme.
It sounds like the only one from my list that is useable is Traditions Way, so I'll have to go back to the drawing board. I
welcome any suggestions that you might have for a new naming scheme!
Thanks,
Bryan Klein

Bryan:
As per National Emergency Numbering Association (NENA)guidelines and Gallatin County Policy, street names need to
)e unique in the name itself, not in the name+type (e.g. we can't have Smith Ave and Smith Ln).

Of the list you've sent, "Traditions Way" is unique enough to warrant further review. We'll check with the 911 dispatch
office to make sure it brings up no issues with them, but from our end it looks good. (The additional conflict we see is
that while we do not have Marketplace Drive, there is a Market Place, and I can easily surmise what the 911 dispatch
office will say to that.)
The rest of the roads will need unique road names, the type (Ln, Dr, Way) can be assigned or requested as appropriate.
They'll also need to be phonetically unique (e.g. we can't have Smith Ave and Smythe Ave).
Let us know if we can be of any assistance in coming up with a new list or naming scheme. (We definitely recommend
using naming schemes to help tie neighborhoods together and make location identification that much faster)
Also, when available, if you could send us a copy of the plat, that would be very helpful for our process.
Many thanks!

Subject: City of Bozeman Subdivision Road Naming
Hello,
I am the owner and developer of a new master planned community in Bozeman called Northwest Crossing. The 160
acre development is located in the City of Bozeman near the new high school, Gallatin High, extending northwest from
the intersection of Cottonwood Road and West Oak Street. I am looking to identify the names of a few of the main
roads and would like to know if these names are available to be used:
Madison Lane
Homestead Drive
Marketplace Drive
Creekside Lane
Heritage Lane
Legacy Lane
Traditions Way
Thank you,
Bryan Klein
