Good morning,
Just to please join us for the Montana Recovery Resources Symposium. In person registrations for
the symposium will close on January 13th. If you plan to attend either virtually or in person, please
register early at http://bit.ly/3FshCys.
We have also secured another block of rooms at the Hampton Inn. Point of contact is Alyssa Pecnick
– 406-443-5800. Information on the other two hotels with blocks reserved is on the attached
invitation. All block hotel holds close on January 16th. With Legislation in session, we strongly
encourage you to reserve your accommodations early as things will book up quickly.
Look for more information coming soon about the symposium schedule and featured guest
speakers. It is going to be a great day full of recovery information for your communities and
opportunities to network with representatives who can assist with recovery needs from a whole
community perspective. On behalf of MT DES, we truly hope to see you there!

What does a wholistic approach to long term recovery look like following a disaster event?
What resources are available to assist with recovery efforts and where are the recovery gaps?

Join Montana state emergency management experts, state higher education
representatives, federal disaster recovery staff, local community representatives, and
philanthropic organizations for an opportunity to network and learn about the
following:
The Montana Recovery Resource Symposium will discuss resources and programs that
can be utilized to assist in disaster recovery efforts, while also identifying resource gaps.
The symposium will focus on disaster impacts to the following sectors of a community:
Representatives from each sector will share what recovery looks like for different community
elements. The speakers will discuss available recovery resources and the resource gaps that
result in unmet needs.
In addition, presenters will discuss examples of current unmet needs from the June 2022
flooding disaster as we work to establish partnerships among the symposium attendees which
will provide additional resource support to communities recovering from disasters both now
and in the future.
