Our Economic Development staff is researching how we can force Airbnb and
VRBO platforms to require a valid city license as a condition of being able to list an
STR from Bozeman on their site. During a recent work session on the topic, we
asked staff to bring back a recommendation on how we can implement this.
We are scheduled to have another work session on STRs in February,, so I
encourage you to stay engaged on this topic.

Terry, as a follow up to my voicemail, I own 610 N Grand which is a licensedshort term rental. I recently learned that Bozeman has on ~255 licensed STRs.However, Airbnb.com shows 660 rentals within the city limits! Why is thisallowed? Maybe the easiest way to bring back more long term rentals would berequire Airbnb and VRBO to only allow licensed rentals on their sites. Thanks,Tim Conarro, 303-746-1490
