SAVE THE DATE!
Montana Recovery Resources Symposium
Join Montana state emergency management experts, state higher education
representatives, federal disaster recovery staff, local community representatives,
and philanthropic organizations for an opportunity to network and learn about
the following:
• What does a wholistic approach to long term recovery look like following a disaster event?
• What resources are available to assist with recovery efforts and where are the recovery
gaps?
The Montana Recovery Resource Symposium will discuss resources and programs that can be
utilized to assist in disaster recovery efforts, while also identifying resource gaps.
The symposium will focus on disaster impacts to the following sectors of a community:
1. Infrastructure
2. Housing
3. Economy
4. Industry Partners (agricultural, mining, tourism, etc.)
5. Environment/Natural Resources
6. Local Capacity
Representatives from each sector will share what recovery looks like for different community elements.
The speakers will discuss available recovery resources and the resource gaps that result in unmet needs.
In addition, presenters will discuss examples of current unmet needs from the June 2022 flooding
disaster as we work to establish partnerships among the symposium attendees which will provide
additional resource support to communities recovering from disasters both now and in the future.
WHEN: Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
WHERE: Fort Harrison National Guard auditorium, Helena, Montana or attend remotely
through virtual registration.
Watch for formal invitations, additional symposium details, and registration information
coming soon.
