Dear Mayor and City Commissioners:
I understand you are prioritizing future street improvement projects. Please do not widen Kagy
to 4 lanes. This will have major negative impacts on pedestrian and bicycle travel across andalong the corridor. Many communities are putting 4 lanes on diets and reducing them to 2.
Replace all intersections with roundabouts, provide adequate turn lanes, build safe bike lanesand pedestrian friendly crossings. You will move as much traffic as a 4 lane with lights!
Please put improvements to College from 8th to 19th as the top priority. This street has someof the highest pedestrian and bicycle travel of any street in Bozeman, yet lacks sidewalks, safe
crossings, turn lanes, and bike lanes! It is extremely dangerous! The interface between MSUand the commercial strip between 8th and 11th is a pedestrian nightmare. It lacks accessible
and well marked crosswalks, well designed lighting, and aesthetically pleasing landscaping.All these amenities would improve pedestrian safety and create a more accessible connection
with the local businesses.
