Parks Master Plan

Financing
All Park and street boulevards adjacent to the parks
will be constructed with the subdivision improve-
ments and financed by the developer.
Construction
Any and all site work (including trails) must be
preceded by a preconstruction meeting with the
City of Bozeman, 30 days prior to construction start.
All plans, improvements, structures, and plantings
must be approved by the city prior to installation.
Building Permits are required for any structural
improvements. Any deviation from the Park Master
Plan must be submitted to the city and approved
before construction.

Planned Amenities
The development of parkland amenities will be
constructed by the developer to meet the Parks
Master Plan goals. The current list of planned
amenities includes:
1. 6’ Wide Class II trails along the west side of
the north/south stream corridor
2. Great lawn and community gathering space
with picnic tables, seating, and a small perfor-
mance stage
3. Playground area at major trail node with seat-
ing and picnic pavilion
4. Bridge across the wetland area connecting
the active west side of the park with the open
lawn area on the east side of the watercourse
5. Dog park with areas for ball toss and agility
6. Benches at intermittent intervals along
streams and paths where necessary

Improvements for the park will be constructed in a
single construction phase. Details of these improve-
ments are described below:
• Enhance and replant stream corridor and con-
structed detention ponds
• Build street infrastructure improvements includ-
ing boulevard planting along South 17th Ave-
nue, Stucky Road, and Arnold Street
• Construct landscape berms and topography
using topsoil from adjacent lots
• Construct a wetland bridge crossing connecting
east/west between City Park 2 and City Park 3
• Construct park trail improvements including a
north/south 6’ Wide Class II trail along the west
side of the stream corridor and other 5’ con-
necting sidewalks
• Install driveable access lane for maintenance or
food truck access to northwest corner of park
• Install furnishings at this food truck area includ-
ing picnic tables, bike racks, seating, and a
water fountain
• Install furnishings along the trails and at the pri-
mary central gathering node including a shade
structure, 6 bike racks, 2 picnic tables, 6 bench-
es, and a playground area. The playground
area will include 2 separate areas - a sand
playground for children ages 2-6 & a climbing
playground for children ages 6-12.
• Install a dog park west of north/south stream
corridor with proper fencing, benches, and an
agility course
The master plan also accounts for future elements
that could be added by the Parks Department. De-
tails of these improvements are described below:
• Designate area for future restroom at northwest
food truck park and construct utilities to accom-
modate.
• Designate area for future all wheels park be-
tween the great lawn and playground.
