COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3148
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, STATING THE CITY'S INTENT TO AMEND THE 1990 BOZEMAN
AREA MASTER PLAN UPDA TE BY REVISING THE PLANNING BOARD'S
PROPOSED SUB-AREA PLAN FOR DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE NORTH 19TH
A VENUE/WEST OAK STREET CORRIDOR.
WHEREAS, Planning staff has processed an application for a Master Plan Amendment to
incorporate a sub-plan for development within the North 19th Avenue/West Oak Street corridor into
the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update; and
WHEREAS, the Planning staff assessed the application in light of the criteria set forth for
review of Master Plan Amendments; and
WHEREAS, the City-County Planning Board conducted a public hearing on an application
for said amendment at its regular meeting held on September 4, 1996, taking into careful
consideration the criteria set forth for review of Master Plan Amendment applications; and
WHEREAS, the City-County Planning Board found that the application complies with each
of the approval criteria established in Chapter 5 of the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update,
and that the proposed amendment constitutes an overall improvement to the Plan; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to its public hearing, the City-County Planning Board voted, on a
vote of 10 to 0, to forward a recommendation for approval; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission on September 16, 1996, adopted a Resolution of
Intention to adopt the Planning Board's proposed amendment; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission held a public hearing on September 16, 1996; and
WHEREAS, during the September 16 public hearing, a proposal for an "alternative
development review procedure" was submitted by three of the affected property owners; and
WHEREAS, the verbal portion of the public hearing has been closed, and the written
portion of the public hearing was continued to October 2; and
WHEREAS, after considering the public testimony, it is the City Commission's intent to
revise the Planning Board's proposed master plan amendment by adding the alternative
development review procedure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman,
Montana, that:
Section 1
The Commission intends to amend the Master Plan by revising the proposed sub-area plan
submitted by the Planning Board for development of the North 19th Avenue/West Oak Street

corridor into the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update by adding an alternative development
review procedure.
Section 2
A public hearing on the revisions to the proposed Master Plan Amendment, to provide for
an alternative development review procedure to the Planned Unit Development process, is hereby
scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, in the Commission Room in the Municipal Building,
at which time testimony will be received in support of and in opposition to inclusion of an
alternative development review procedure.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a
special session thereof held on the 30th day of September 1996.

NOTICE TO BOZEMAN RESIDENTS
Notice is hereby given
that at its meeting to be held at 7:00 p.m., on Monday, October
7, 1996, the Bozeman City Commission will consider a proposal to amend the
Planning Board's
proposed sub-area plan for the North 19th Avenue/West Oak Street corridor
by providing for an
alternative development review procedure.
The public hearing is to be held in the Commission
Room, Municipal Building, 411 East Main Street, Bozeman, Montana.
All interested persons are invited to attend and provide testimony, either
verbally or in
writing, in support of or in opposition to the revision to the proposed Master
Plan Amendment.
