Subject: Action Item J.2: UDC Project Work Session, City Commission Meeting, Tue, Nov 22, 6
PM
I am writing to request that the Bozeman City Commission and Community DevelopmentDepartment address the following issues as they relate to Action Item J.2: UDC Project Update
Work Session at Tuesday's City Commission Meeting.
Bozeman Community Plan 2020 (Theme 4): THEME 4 | A CITY INFLUENCED BY OURNATURAL ENVIRONMENT, PARKS, AND OPEN LANDS: (pgs. 35 – 38)
https://www.bozeman.net/home/showpublisheddocument/1074/637552816180100000
Bozeman Climate Plan 2020 (Action Items 6.P.1 and 6.P.3): Action Item 6.P.1. Protect LocalWetlands for Flood Resilience and Water Quality (pg. 149) Action Item 6.P.3. Enhance
Greenspace and Carbon Sequestration for New Development (pg. 151)

Also, I note that the Bozeman City Commission and Community Development Department have
arbitrarily excluded the Gallatin Valley Sensitive Lands Protection Plan (GVSLPP, to befinalized in fall 2023) from discussion at this work session. Doing so is irresponsible becausethe GVSLPP is part of the City of Bozeman's Strategic Plan Part 6: Sustainable Environment
(Subpart 6.6 Habitat), and the GVSLPP will apply within Bozeman city limits. In fact, the
GVSLPP was conceived by the City of Bozeman, is a priority under Bozeman City Commission
Resolution 5368 for CYs 2022-2023, and is funded by the City of Bozeman(https://d2kbkoa27fdvtw.cloudfront.net/bozeman/fc02068388358d3ee1f006595540279d0.pdf) By
excluding the GVSLPP from discussion during this work session, the City Commission andCommunity Development Department are once again showing their true colors, i.e., neither willbe satisfied until nearly every square inch of the City of Bozeman is developed and paved from
east to west and north to south.
