COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3159
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION TO BECOME
LEAD COMMUNITY UNDER THE REBUILD AMERICA PROGRAM; AND
AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the energy program being sponsored by the State of Montana
Department of Environmental Quality under the Rebuild America Program is a very attractive
program which will lead to improved local environmental Quality; and
WHEREAS, the energy program will allow the lead community to take an active role
in enabling its citizens and businesses to save monies on utility bills; and
WHEREAS, such energy cost savings will encourage economic expansion; and
WHEREAS, through this program, new businesses opportunities will be created,
leading to the creation of jobs; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission acknowledges the benefits of reduced energy
savings, as demonstrated through energy change-out projects which have been recently
funded and completed in City Hall, Bozeman Public Library, Water Treatment Plant and
Wastewater Treatment Plant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of

Bozeman, Montana, that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the

documents needed for submittal of an application to the State of Montana Department of
Environmental Quality to serve as lead community for the energy program.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana,
at a regular session thereof held on the 21 st day of January 1997.
