HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 3161 Intent to amend master plan - Marks land use designation - ~-- COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3161 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONT ANA, STATING THE CITY'S INTENT TO AMEND THE 1990 BOZEMAN AREA MASTER PLAN UPDA TE BY AMENDING THE lAND USE ELEMENT FROM "URBAN RESIDENTIAL" TO "URBAN RESIDENTIAL INFlll" AND "COMMERCIAL" ON 120.37 ACRES lOCATED IN THE SOUTHEAST ONE-QUARTER OF SECTION 14, TOWNSHIP 2 SOUTH, RANGE 5 EAST, MONTANA PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, GAllATIN COUNTY, MONTANA. WHEREAS, Planning staff has processed an application for a Master Plan Amendment to amend the land use element from "Urban Residential" to "Urban Residential Infill" and "Commercial" on a 120.37-acre parcel lying along the west side of South 19th Avenue 'between West Lincoln Street extended and Kagy Boulevard extended, in the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update; and WHEREAS, the Planning staff assessed the application in light of the criteria set forth for review of Master Plan Amendments; and WHEREAS, the City-County Planning Board conducted a public hearing on an application for said amendment at its regular meeting held on February 4, 1997, taking into careful consideration the criteria set forth for review of Master Plan Amendment applications; and WHEREAS, the City-County Planning Board found that the application complies with each of the approval criteria established in Chapter 5 of the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update, and that the proposed amendment constitutes an overall improvement to the Plan; and WHEREAS, subsequent to its public hearing, the City-County Planning Board voted, on a vote of 7 to 1, to forward a recommendation for approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission is scheduled to conduct its public hearing on said amendment at its regular meeting held on February 18, 1997, taking into careful consideration the criteria set forth for review of Master Plan Amendment applications. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, that it intends to revise the Master Plan to amend the land use element from "Urban Residential" to "Urban Residential Infill" and "Commercial" on 120.37 acres located in the Southeast one-quarter of Section 14, Township 2 South, Range 5 East, . --... ,.----------..-- Montana Principal Meridian, Gallatin County, Montana, in the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a regular session thereof held on the 18th day of February 1997. (Om-? [~ , DON E.
