COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3167
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, ESTABLISHING
GUIDELINES FOR RECOGNIZING THE
ACCOMPLISHMENTS OR ACHIEVEMENTS OF INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS AND
GROUPS IN THE COMMUNITY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes that the citizens and their positive
accomplishments or achievements benefit and help define our community; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is often asked to recognize the accomplishments
or achievements of individuals or groups, based on a specific activity or event; and
WHEREAS, the Commission recognizes that, in order to establish consistency, it
needs to develop guidelines under which proclamations or recognition of accomplishments
or achievements will be proffered.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of
Bozeman, Montana, that, whenever an individual, group or team bestows recognition upon
the City of Bozeman by an activity, participation or deed, the Commission may issue a
proclamation or otherwise recognize the achievements of an individual who has done
something special and unique for another individual, group or team; or recognize an
individual, group or team that has participated in a State level competition, earned the title
of State Champion, or advanced to national or world level competition.
If feasible, the
individual, group or team will personally receive the special recognition or a proclamation at
a Commission meeting.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana,
at a regular session thereof held on the 21 st day of April 1997.
