Proposed Tidal Wave Auto Spa

The proposed reclamation system for the Tidal Wave car wash consists of four underground tanks;three 1,500 gal
reclamation tanks and a 1,500 gallon oil water separator. Discharge water from the car wash enters into Tank#1 where
it is then interconnected with Tank#2 and Tank#3.There is a separate discharge from the carwash that bypasses the
reclamation system and enters directly into Tank#4(oil water separator)from the tire shine component.The pump for
the reclamation tank system is located in tank#3.The tanks are interconnected with a 6" pipe between Tank#3 and
Tank#4(oil/water separator).The discharge in the reclamation tanks is pumped back to the car wash and recycled in
the next wash cycle. It is designed by the manufacturer of the car was equipment so that 67.6%of the water is recycled
through the reclamation system and the remaining water is discharged to the sewer system.
If the pump in Tank#3 were to fail and water discharging to the reclamation system was not able to recirculate back to
the car wash, it would overflow into the oil water separator through a 6" pipe(15 on the detail). It should be noted that
the pumps have typical highwater alarms. Based on the water usage information provided by the manufacturer during
normal operation,the freshwater usage per car is 23.33 gallons per car while using 48.80 gallons per car of reclaimed
water. If the reclaim pump failed and the car wash tunnel continued to operate,the 48.80 gallons would be drawn from
the freshwater line instead of the reclaimed water system.Therefore,a total of 72.13(23.33+48.80)gallons per car
would discharge to the sanitary sewer system during a reclaim pump failure.The car wash typically operates at 1 car
minute.
If the pump did not recycle the water in the reclamation tank,the car wash discharge of 72.13 gpm would all go to the
6"sanitary lateral.The proposed 6" lateral is to be constructed at a 1%minimum slope to the sanitary main.A 6" pipe at
1%slope flowing half full has the capacity to handle approximately 100 gpm.The proposed 6"sanitary lateral has the
capacity for the carwash discharge,a SSO would not occur,and the water would be discharged to the sanitary sewer
system.
