Hello,
Please find this correspondence to be in favor of keeping the ‘Bird’ Scooters and the like in operation in and around
Bozeman.
Being a one car family, both my husband and I have used the scooter system to get to and from work downtown on
various occasions. They are convenient and fun way to get around a bit faster than on foot. While I understand the
issues that some folks abuse this mode of transportation, such as inappropriate sidewalk use, it would be a shame to
punish those that use these scooters responsibly.
Consider that not everyone can afford a commuter bike or car, and the limits with our public transportation systems.
We as a small city definitely have more issues with safety on our roadways than a few months of scooters sharing
the roads: if I am not mistaken motor vehicles cause the most bodily damage with reckless speeding, running red
lights, and uncontrolled intersections.
Thank you for your consideration in not having Bozeman’s streets solely reserved for use of automobiles.
