Regarding opposition to Bird Scooters provided by City of Bozeman.
Reasons against:
A big hazard in traffic – in and of themselves, and very frequently because of the riders’ actions. I
have enough to watch out for without dealing with people on bird scooters – they are often very
hard to see in traffic!
They are laying around ev-ery-where. Looks trashy.
I’m pretty sure there is a person at my workplace who must keep one around, as I see them ride one
to work consecutive days in a row (unless it is their own). Not the intention or them.
Reasons for:
Maybe better than driving home drunk in a car, not sure. I consistently see quite a few show up in
the neighborhood by the next morning.
I suppose they are an amusement for tourists. (So? I don’t care).
Okay, they do save gas if you are doing very short trips or running around downtown (you can also
walk) – however, what about all the use of batteries and charging them?! That is a concern to me.
