Greetings,
I would like to submit the following comments regarding the city provided scooters in town:
1. In my neighborhood the scooters are strewn in people's yards, on the sidewalks, on the
road, in bike lanes......literally everywhere. This cause issues for pedestrians, bikers,
propoerty owners, dogs and traffic.
2. There are so many things that the city does not seem to have adequate funds for (more
bike lanes, bus stops/routes, plowing, stop signs, bike-driver education, street cleaning)
that it seems inappropriate to use funds for scooters that seem to be almost entirely
used by younger generations who are capable of walking, biking, and taking the bus.
3. If we are going to support alternative transportation to cars...I suggest implementing
more bus stops and routes, commuter BICYCLES that are usable for longer commutes,
errands and that must be rented and returned to parking portals.
4. The scooters may no sense in winter conditions which is more than half of the year in
Bozeman.
I would vote against scooters as long as the saved funds are used for alternative
transportation ideas that do make sense and are not a nuisance in our city.
