Dear Commissioners and TAB members-
I don't think the e-scooter service is serving Bozeman well and urge the city of Bozeman to
cancel their contract with the Bird Scooters asap. I definitely don't think we should hire aconsultant with taxpayer dollars to point out all the problems with them. This service is just
not something that we need to offer residents especially when the users have proven to beirresponsible users. It was a fun experiment and has now become a nuisance and perceived (or
real) safety hazard.
I believe the issue of e-scooters is an easy one in Bozeman- ban them until such time, if ever,that the companies have better business models that heavily "incentivize" following the
various rules.
I have nothing against scooters in general and believe that private ownership would alleviatemost of the concerns. I think any city money spent on supporting this business in Bozeman is
a waste and would be better spent on assisting those with demonstrable needs to purchase abike or scooter.
If young adults on or near the MSU campus are the primary users, then we can rest
assured knowing that those users will be able to walk or take the Streamline to the majority oftheir downtown destinations- bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.
