Hello:I would like to see some strict regulation of these scooters.1) Scooters should have a designated place where they should be returned/parked. They should not be left on the sidewalk or private property. They are a major obstacle to people with disabilitiesand other people using the sidewalk. There should be a hefty fine associated with it to be paid by the company. The company can deal with the renter anyway they like. 2) These scooters should have an automatic speed controller so that they never exceed whatever the speed limit is allowed. They are a major danger to people walking on the sidewalk and can leadto serious injuries. These scooters are not meant for racing around town. They are a means of conveyance.3) The company should carry insurance for each scooter and in case of an accident that information should be provided. 4) They (along with bicycles) should not be exempt from traffic laws, e.g. not stopping at the stop sign, zooming out in the traffic, not even in a crosswalk. They are much faster than a pedestrianand a driver cannot always react to such actions fast enough leading to accidents. They should be held accountable for causing such accidents (insurance?). with regards,Subhash Lele1122 Cherry drive, Bozeman, MT. -- ********************************************************************************** Subhash LeleWebpage: sites.ualberta.ca/~slele "The desire to disbelieve deepens as the scale of the threat grows" Economist-ethicist Clive Hamilton
