Dear City Officials,
I am writing you today to encourage you to NOT renew the city contract with Bird Scooters.
These scooters are littered around the city like dead bodies. They are abandoned on sidewalks,blocking people in wheelchairs, parents pushing strollers etc from safely walking to their
destination.they are a banded in people’s yards. They are often abandoned in ourneighborhood for weeks. Why the company can’t pick these ridiculous machines up in a
timely manner is beyond me. I’ve seen these scooters abandoned on trails - four of them justyesterday we’re up on Peet’s Hill. I see young people riding them on the road heading against
traffic. These scooters pose multiple public safety problems, all of which the taxpayers paysfor, and none of which the company pays for. They profit, and we pay for their destructive
nature.
Please prioritize public safety and the beauty of our town by not renewing the Bird Scootercontract.
