It is a "contributing historical building" within the Bon Ton Historical District, and preserving the historical integrity of the building is a central aspect of this project. The renovation of a historically separate 798 SF apartment (Apartment 2) was completed in 2020. The current scope of work will create two new apartments within the existing main house, Apartment 1 on the main level and Apartment 3 on the upper level. The renovation will include upgrades to the structure and building envelope to improve life safety and building performance. Minor improvements to interior layout, new windows, and new porch entry to Apartment 3 will be completed. No other changes to the exterior are planned. All new exterior trim materials and finishes at the doors and windows will match existing.
