My name is Mike Moody and I live in Gallatin County. Considering the passing of BHSeducator Kelly Fulton, I wanted to discuss public safety.
Bozeman is plagued by reckless drivers that are operating with a blatant disregard for public
safety. I do not feel the public’s driving habits are malicious, but rather a learned behaviorthat is without consequence—until it has major consequences. As much as I believe that it is
the driver’s responsibility to adhere to traffic laws, I also believe it is the municipality’s andelected leadership’s responsibility to assure public safety within their jurisdiction.
At every major intersection (without exception) any individual can witness, within minutes, a
traffic violation occurring. That level of frequency is alarming. It needs to be addressed andrectified with haste.
The solutions are simple, will benefit the flow of traffic, and will improve public safety.
1) Stop allowing drivers to turn left on a blinking yellow light.
2) By using cameras, additional policing, or whatever means necessary, enforce red-light
management.
Please find a solution that promotes healthy growth; improved public safety; and reliable
traffic management.
Sincerely,
Mike Moody
