Comments on Agenda for September 28, 2022
The single stated item for approval is "on-street paid parking as a strategy to properly manage the parking
supplyā€¯.
Omitted are open issues from the last community session:
1) implementation of parking benefit zones.
2) engagement of developers involved in density increasing projects in the costs of parking additions.
Generally, there was a strong sense that historical minutes in no way reflected the community
conversations. There was a lot of conversation around the willingness of business, and in the past,
developers, to contribute to parking costs. I believe this perception of not listening to core issues is vital to
progress.
Great news on a parking structure for employees. And yet; paid parking still being pushed to top of agenda
even though there was not community support; and the impact on near by neighborhoods has not been
addressed (PBZ). I advocate strongly for the addition of open issues, #1 and #2 above, to the agenda.
The 5-6 long term business owners in that meeting have all commenting on the lack of partnership and
listening. Lets get all the issues on the table; not just the planning agenda.
Respectfully,
Colleen Keller
