HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 3194 Intent to amend Master Plan - 148.05 acres, Gateway Ltd. -- "~~"-_."".,- -- - ".- -_.~-- COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 3194 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, STATING THE CITY'S INTENT TO REVISE THE 1990 BOZEMAN AREA MASTER PLAN UPDA TE BY ESTABLISHING AN INITIAL LAND USE ELEMENT OF "URBAN RESIDENTIAL INFILL" ON 148.05 ACRES LOCATED IN THE SOUTHWEST ONE-QUARTER OF SECTION 2, TOWNSHIP 2 SOUTH, RANGE 5 EAST, MONTANA PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, EXCEPTING THEREFROM THE WEST ONE-HALF OF THE WEST ONE-HALF OF THE NORTHWEST ONE-QUARTER OF THE SOUTHWEST ONE- QUARTER AND THE WEST ONE-HALF OF THE WEST ONE-HALF OF THE SOUTHWEST ONE-QUARTER OF THE SOUTHWEST ONE-QUARTER. WHEREAS, Planning staff has processed an application for a Master Plan Amendment to revise the land use element by establishing an initial land use element of "Urban Residential Infill" a 148.05-acre parcel lying along north side of Durston Road, immediately west of the Smith Annexation, in the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update; and WHEREAS, the Planning staff assessed the application in light of the criteria set forth for review of Master Plan Amendments; and WHEREAS, the City-County Planning Board conducted a public hearing on an application for said amendment at its regular meeting held on July 1, 1997, taking into careful consideration the criteria set forth for review of Master Plan An randment applications; and WHEREAS, the City-County Planning Board found that the application complies with the approval criteria established in Chapter 5 of the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update, and that the proposed amendment does not constitute an overall improvement to the Plan; and WHEREAS, subsequent to its public hearing, the City-County Planning Board voted, on a vote of 8 to 0, to forward a recommendation for approval of the requested land use designation; and WHEREAS, the City Commission is scheduled to conduct its public hearing on said amendment at its regular meeting held on July 21, 1997, to consider the applicant's request to amend the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, that it intends to revise the Master Plan to establish an initial land use -.:;::-."-" --.. - -.---.- - '-~~ element of "Urban Residential Infill" on a 148.05-acre parcel lying along north side of Durston Road, immediately west of the Smith Annexation, in the 1990 Bozeman Area Master Plan Update. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a regular session thereof held on the 21 st day of July 1997. ( DOh ~ /3';c'd_L. DON E.
