Commissioners,
Long term homeowners and renters are at a breaking point.
Continual increases in taxes do not bode well for either or for the health of the community.
Developers and those owning second homes which are often empty much of the year need
to bear a larger financial load than established residents who are trying to continue to live
here and contribute to community affairs. But increasingly this demographic is considering
leaving the lives they have built here because they cannot bear the costs and stressors of
unfettered growth, including higher property taxes.
