Screening for Weapons at Bozeman Public Safety Center
(Effective August 26,2022)
Pursuant to the authority granted to me in Sec. 24.07.160 (C) of the Bozeman Municipal Code, I
determine screening for firearms and other weapons is required at the Bozeman Public Safety
Center located at 901 North Rouse. This building houses the Bozeman Police Department, the
Bozeman Municipal Court,and the prosecution and victim services function of the City Attorney's
Office. These essential functions often involve interactions where emotions run high and
exchanges may be contentious and volatile. For the safety of all city employees and members of
the public entering the Bozeman Public Safety Center,the screening of firearms and other weapons
is required. I further delegate all authority to establish standards for such screening and implement
this safety measure to the Chief of Police of the City of Bozeman.
