The need for a bicycle pathway along Frontage Road between North 7th Avenue and Valley Center Road becomes
ever more desperate with each passing day, month and year. The dangers along that section of roadway for cyclists,
pedestrians and other non-motorized users continues to escalate. The Frontage Pathway project needs to be
completed as soon as possible.
Construction of the section of Frontage Pathway between North 7th and North 19th Avenues has been estimated to
cost about $400,000. Yet it is common knowledge that the cost will continue to increase with every delay.
I urge that a significant portion of the one-time STR132 set aside by the Commission for pathway projects be
allocated to the Frontage Pathway. Funding in the amount of $250,000 would be reasonable.
