Transportation Board, City staff and Commission:
I am requesting funding from STR132 to be used for the Frontage Pathway. It is long overdue that this city, for the
safety of cyclists and other pedestrians, provide a path off the highway. Bozeman has obviously been discovered as
a recreationist’s paradise but cyclists take their life in their hands whenever riding.
I have been lucky enough to ride the recreation trail in Tucson. I realize Tucson is much larger than Bozeman, but
they had the foresight many years ago to set aside land to build a path where a person rarely crosses a street and is
away from traffic. It brings people from all over the country, and other countries, to enjoy it and spend lots of their
tourist dollars. I know of people here in the Gallatin Valley who have sold their bikes because it’s not worth the risk.
Thank you for your time. I would appreciate a safe place to ride so funding this project would also be appreciated.
