For the record, I use the Frontage road regularly to commute from Nelson road to either 7th Avenue or19th Ave. (I have hours of video to prove it). Not many other people ride on the Frontage road with any regularity. The proposed pathway, while a nice multiuse path, would not behelpful for any sort of commute and could make my commute more dangerous. I have always found the most dangerous part of my commute to MSU the ride on 19th or 7th. There arehorrible sight lines at nearly every intersection causing vehicles wanting to make a right-on- red to pull out far and block the cross walks, existing multiuse path and road shoulder. Thisproblem also negatively affects people with disabilities trying to get around independently (again for the record I have volunteered with Eagle Mount for 10 years so get this first hand). These problems need to be addressed before a feel good project like the Frontage pathway if Bozeman really wants to get to a bike/walk friendly city. The way things are currently goingseems to be in the opposite direction. One more thing, I have not found anything in the MCA pertaining to multiuse paths. MCA 61-8-605 has rules for riding on roads and MCA 61-8-328 (6) is relative to vehicles in amarked bike lane. Lack of regulation will eventually lead to a messy court case when (and it will happen) a bicyclist is in an accident while riding a multiuse pathway. Please address these issues first to make Bozeman a bike/walk friendly town!Dan Richter
