I am writing in regards to the Bozeman Legion Baseball Indoor Hitting facility. I am currently the Head coach
for the program but also grew up playing baseball in Bozeman along with playing baseball for the Bucks.
This program as well as baseball as a whole in our community has given so much to me throughout my life
and this project helps connect our players dreams to reality. For me as kid we used to go to three forks in
the winter to get time in the cage along with set up a tee in our garage to get reps in. This was back in the
early 2000's and unfortunately not much has changed since then when it comes to opportunities for our
players to get in reps. Indoor cage space in Bozeman is extremely limited and its a battle every year to find
a place for our players along with the youth players to get the quality reps they would like. This project in
particular has been talked about in our organization for decades but has never been pushed and never
followed through with. Over the last two years a group of dedicated supporters have spent countless hours
on this from design to fundraising and gotten it close to achievable. I am hopeful that it can be looked at for
what it is, an indoor hitting practice facility that provides opportunity to the 50+ players in our organization
along with the 400+ players at the youth level and approved with the agency exemptions that make it
financially feasible to complete. The benefit to our organization is immense but the true benefit of it is for
the individual players in our community and the increased opportunity it presents them to chase their
dreams in baseball.
