I would like to encourage the commission to approve the proposed baseball "hitting facility" that is planned
for Heroes Park, home of the Bozeman Bucks. As an active baseball parent, I can attest to the commitment
of time and resources that has gone into planning and fundraising for this much-needed facility. It truly has
been a community effort.
The facility will benefit the community as well. With limited outdoor practice conditions, Bucks teams
typically have to beg and borrow pre-season practice space from a patchwork of private and other public
locations (MSU, BHS). Having a dedicated hitting facility will allow players more time--and continuity--to
develop their skills and benefit from all the other good things that stem from sports participation.
The Bucks are a community gem. With 4 different teams, they represent Bozeman on the road and here at
home. Heroes is a great place to catch a game--even if you don't have a kid on the team--as evidenced by
the many locals (and veterans) who frequent the games.
Please approve this facility so these kids--and future teams--can continue to up their game.
