My name is Chris Tasker, I reside at 218 Clancy Way in Bozeman, MT 59718. The purpose of this
correspondence is to discuss the above referenced indoor facility proposed for the Bozeman Bucks,
Legion facility.
I am a volunteer, supporter and parent of a 14 year old baseball player in the Legion, Bozeman
Baseball program. One of the most difficult challenges for Bozeman Baseball players and baseball
programs is the weather and short season for Montana baseball. The harsh weather provides short
seasons and challenges development and growth for youth baseball players. This facility would
allow critical development for Bozeman youth baseball players. I should also note that other cities
like Helena, Missoula, Billings have indoor facilities and provides them a competitive advantage for
their kids.
I should also note, that I am also a coach for the 11U/12U Bozeman Bucks program and I have a
second son that plays in this program. We were challenged when starting the 11U program and one
of the biggest challenges was facilities and indoor batting facilities during bad weather. The only
facility in Bozeman was the indoor facility at Four Corners, which is now closed and one off of 7th
Street in Bozeman which is too small. We are lacking these types of facilities in Bozeman and we are
in dire need of this project for these children.
Again, this project is vital to these children and to the Bozeman Baseball Program. Please allow this
project for the development, growth and improvement in children’s lives as baseball provides
incredible, life learning lessons for them.
