Hello,
There is plenty of discussion and opposition around the introduction of a three-lane road to
connect Fowler. as noted in the recent Pre-Design Report. No need to discuss that in this
email.
To present an alternative, has the city strongly considered adjusting the scope of the project
to a pedestrian and bicycle- only connector? This segment has the opportunity to be a
country- leading example of what can be achieved to support community growth through
non- vehicular alternatives. It could encourage greater bicycle usage with an efficient and
direct connector for many local routes. Rather than being a scar on the city it could be one of
it's gems at much lower cost, with much greater public support and significantly less
environmental impact.
Please take this into consideration. As a local resident navigating the area on a daily basis for
years, I have not experienced traffic issues or a lack of efficiently connecting roads north-
south but I have noticed the need for better/ safe cycling and pedestrian connectors which
has been Holding Bozeman back. We aren't a leading cycling city but we could be. This could
improve our existing citizens' way of life rather than deteriorate it.
Thank you for your consideration.
