Regarding Commission Resolution No. 5406
A tax is a tax even when it’s called a “special assessment”. Since the Commission has obviously decided to
approve this Resolution before hearing any input from the property owners of the City of Bozeman, could
this property owner at least ask for clarification on whether this “special assessment” can be deducted
when filing State or Federal taxes? If not, call it what it is - a tax! That way your citizens can at least gain
some benefit against other tax requirements.
