Governor's Housing Task Force Meeting Opento the Public
The Governor’s Housing Task Force will convene for its first meeting on July
20, 2022, at the State Capitol. The purpose of the meeting will be to set a
course for successfully responding to the challenges identified in Executive
Order No. 5-2022.
Last week, Governor Gianforte created the Task Force and appointed 26
members to serve for up to one year. The Task Force is charged with
providing recommendations to increase the supply of affordable, attainable
workforce housing in Montana. Members include representatives of various
professional and industry associations, state agency directors, elected
officials, members of state boards and councils, and subject matter experts.
Chris Dorrington, Director of the Department of Environmental Quality, will
chair the Task Force. A vice chair and subcommittee leads will be selected
at the first meeting. DEQ launched a web page to support the work of the
Task Force. Future meeting dates, agendas and materials will be posted in
advance at: https://deq.mt.gov/about/housing-task-force
The public is welcome to attend the meeting in person (space is limited) or
virtually to listen to the conversation and provide input during the designated
public portion of the agenda.
