Adoption of the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code, 2021 International Mechanical Code, 2021
International Fuel Gas Code, 2020 National Electric Code, 2021 International Building Code, 2021
Residential Code,2021 International Existing Building Code, 2021 International Energy Conservation
Code, 2021 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code and the 2021 International Wildland-Urban
Interface Code.
WHEREAS, on June 11, 2022 the State of Montana, Department of Labor and Industry, amended several
administrative rules within the Building Codes chapter(Chapter 24.301) of the Administrative Rules of
Montana, which included the adoption of several updated model technical codes; and
WHEREAS, Effective June 11, 2022, the State of Montana, Department of Labor and Industry repealed
the prior editions of the detailed codes and portions of the detailed codes which directly apply to its
jurisdiction.
NOW,THEREFORE, effective August 1, 2022, in conformance with the Notice from the State of
Montana, Department of Labor and Industry and Bozeman Municipal Code Section 10.02.010,the City
of Bozeman hereby adopts those portions of the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code, 2021 International
Mechanical Code, 2021 International Fuel Gas Code, 2020 National Electric Code, 2021 International
Building Code, 2021 Residential Code, 2021 International Energy Conservation Code, 2021 International
Existing Building Code, 2021 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code and the 2021 International
Wildland-Urban Interface Code along with any relevant Administrative Rules of Montana which were
adopted by the State of Montana, Department of Labor and Industry on June 11, 2021 and which apply
to the City of Bozeman jurisdictional area.
