Hi Commissioners-
My name is Cathy Cooper, and I am a landlord in Bozeman. In fact, I own the home next to last night’s murder on
Brenden St. in Valley West. I am also a former Airbnb super host, having rented out the guest house attached to my
garage for a number of years. I am very concerned about the ridiculous number of short term rentals in Bozeman,
especially given the lack of affordable housing for Bozeman residents and potential workers.
It is my feeling, and I suggest it to you, that a short term rental “host” be allowed to have only one or two short term
rentals that are not in their permanent residence. People are cashing in on tourists at the expense of locals- not okay
in my opinion. The housing situation here is out of control, and I would ask that you regain some! My solution is
one possible way of starting to do that.
