Good afternoon,
I am submitting a public comment on the Six Range West Luxury Condo development in westBozeman.
While I completely understand that Bozeman needs housing, luxury housing is not in the
"needs" category. It does not contribute to Bozeman's culture or character and instead createshousing for a class that can already find housing because of their economic means.
We need housing for regular-income citizens that are being pushed out. There will soon be no
workforce in Bozeman proper with the way the housing and development market is going.
That area seems fairly congested with small side streets and a mix of housing options. Whatwill this many units do to those streets? If neighborhoods are the goal, does this help meet that
goal? If children can't be anywhere near the street because of a lot of traffic, does that creategood-will among neighbors and a happy neighborhood culture? The city is going to end up
with a lot of costly traffic calming initiatives and complaints.
What do luxury condos do to the surrounding home values? I really don't know.
Thank you for your time.
