Hello Commissioner,
I’m writing to you to bring to your attention a pressing issue regarding the building of ascreening wall adjacent to my house, under the exemption in the code for sub120sqft
accessory structures.My neighbors at 401 W Koch have devised a way to build a screening wall that blocks our
house. My understanding from the planning department is that if this was an attempted“permitted build with a COA” that it would not receive approval.
I greatly encourage you to come by and see the situation. It is a sad precedent that is being set
for the city. There is no mechanism to protect me or the neighborhood. There seem to be aglaring hole in the code, allowing anything imaginable under 120 sqft and under 14 ft high to
be installed.
I would very much like to speak with you to tell you our story and explain the issues at hand.Thank you for your public service,
