To Mayor Andrus and the Bozeman City Commission:
I am writing to support the ordinance that will establish Indigenous Peoples' Day as a City
holiday. For the past seven years that the City of Bozeman has recognized the second Mondayin October as a day to celebrate the diverse Indigneous people in our community, I have seen a
burgeoning awareness and appreciation of the Native people we live, work and go to schoolwith. With this holiday that replaces Columbus Day, we will all benefit from what we can
learn from those whose ancestors have been here for millennia before us and fromtheir contributions today.
Thank you, Mayor and Commissioners, for your efforts to make Bozeman a more welcomingCity for all.
