To the City Officials,
>
> I recognize that people can do with their property what they wish when it comes to lawn/tree care. The problems
arise when lawn care companies are spraying neighbors lawns at different times, often went windy and then for
walkers including pets, kids, elderly and parents it becomes a health issue being exposed numerous times during the
growing season. One fertilization per year seems reasonable to me along with signage giving notice and providing
the safety label for any applications to all HOA neighbors. I personally wish it was illegal to use any chemicals on
lawn or common space other than spot treating noxious weeds. However, when someone on their private property
treats with chemicals (like 2,4-D) that I can smell inside my house or outdoors in my yard during the treatment and
days after the treatment, that is never going to be acceptable. These people have impacted MY property and MY
health. When their treatments kill voles and mice this is no longer acceptable. When HOA”s and properly
management companies (Legacy) ignore my concerns and when places like Bozeman Tree Services dismiss my
concerns and cannot show me the safety data sheets for the chemicals they are about to spray, then I have a major
problem. If I were wealthy, I would already be pursing legal action against my HOA (West Meadow) and Legacy
(HOA property manager) to make them stop. Since I am not wealthy, I am really hoping the City can actually do
something. I don’t want to move but that may be a last resort given the wholesale use of these toxic chemicals.
Thank you for you attention in the matter.
