Dear City Commission, Manager and Recreation Staff,
Thank you for promptly getting the outdoor pool open.
The available swim times this week do not allow for those who work or students to have
reasonable access. I understand that you are working on summer scheduling and encourage hours of operation to be long and 7 days a week given a single pool facility for our
community.
The current advertisement for lifeguards and staff is for full time only - this is absolutely a poor approach to management - we need as many guards and staff as possible and this means
offering part time employment so we can extend hours of operation.
For YEARS the swim community has been sharing the concerns of operations management and scheduling (as well as facility maintenance). Yet, the approach has not changed or taken
advantage of partnerships and offers of support. We strongly urge you to approach services and facilities in a manner that can maximize use. I look forward to the report from the
consultant that will identify strategies to address the management and operations concerns in a meaningful way.
Thank you
Jennifer & Chris Boyer
