I believe that this is city issue and you attention to my email would be greatly appreciated. Re: Meadowlark Elementary, CJMS, Gallatin HS All, I am in need of help for the above mentioned schools. Personally, we have experienced at least 3 near accidents with pedestrian vs car. Yesterday for example, my 4th grader was crossing Ferguson at Tanzanite. A vehicle stopped for him but the car behind was obviously impatient and crossed the yellow lines to pass the stopped car. It was divine intervention that I happened to be home and went outside as my son arrived at the intersection. If I hadn’t started screaming my son would not have stopped as he was halfway across the street and the car that was passing either heard my screams or finally saw my son and slammed the breaks. They were literally inches from one another. Ferguson Ave is a major road for school pedestrians. By my house, it is 35mph and far too fast for these kids to be riding or walking safely. It is also highly residential from Babcock to CJMS. Cars are constantly passing in the left lane, passing in the shoulder and the drivers are not safe at times. I also witnessed a high school and my son get aggressively beeped at just for crossing the road. I would like to plead for some traffic calming on Ferguson, I just don’t know who I can go to for help. Is it the district or the city? I have contacted the police regarding two incidents this year. Any advice would be great appreciated. -- Best Regards, Erin Bleau (406) 600-7231 If you would like to submit additional documents (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .gif, .jpg, .png, .rtf, .txt) along with your comment, you may alternately address agenda@bozeman.net directly to ensure receipt of all information.
