Chopra to Visit Great Falls to Learn About
Banking Deserts and Their Impacts
Native CDFI Leaders Strongly Encouraged to Attend
BOZEMAN, Mont., May 31, 2022 – On June 14, 2022, the Consumer Financial Protection
Bureau (CFPB) will be visiting Great Falls, Montana, where CFPB Director Rohit Chopra
will host a discussion with local community organizations, advocates, leaders, and
members of the public about challenges faced by rural Montanans and how banking
deserts adversely impact Montana’s financial landscape.
Native Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) leaders, their partners, and
other key stakeholders in the state and across the region are strongly encouraged to
attend this important discussion to share how banking deserts negatively impact tribal
communities.

also will have an option to participate remotely.
