To: Bozeman City Commissioners From: Daniel Carty, Bozeman Subject: City Commission Meeting 5-24-22, Interlocal Health Board Agreement Vote I am writing to request that the Bozeman City Commissioners vote not to approve the current draft of the Interlocal Health Board Agreement (IHBA) being pushed on the City of Bozeman by the Gallatin County Commissioners. If the Bozeman City Commissioners do vote to approve this draft of the IHBA, then the Gallatin County Commissioners will gain almost unlimited power and control overthe Gallatin City-County Health Office/Officer, Gallatin City-County Board of Health, Gallatin City-County Board of Health Governing Body, and all public health decisions affecting the City of Bozeman and Gallatin County as a whole. The City of Bozeman should not give such power and control to the Gallatin County Commissionersbecause the Gallatin County Commissioners—oligarchy that they wish to be—cannot be trusted to act in the best interests of the residents of the City of Bozeman with respect to public health issues either now or in the foreseeable future. Thank you for the opportunity to comment. Sincerely, Daniel Carty (406-548-2810) Bozeman
