Comments
Good afternoon,
I am writing to you on behalf of the Southwest Montana Building Industry Association. We have received
some concern from our membership regarding the watering restrictions that have been proposed. While
we support and recognize the need for these measures we do have concerns regarding the implementation
of these measures.
The first concern is for newly planted landscaping shrubbery and grass and the effect this may have. Our
members would like to see any newly planted (in the year of 2022) landscaping and shrubbery be excluded
from the water restrictions. Landscaping business owners are required to warranty their product and these
restrictions place that warranty in jeopardy and may cause and undue financial burden on the business.
Second our members would like explore the option of revising the mandated landscaping codes that the
city puts fourth in order to have the water burden minimized for new landscaping going forward.
The members of SWMBIA appreciate your time and listening to our concerns
