Ms. Garber,
I’m submitting this email with several concerns and strong opposition to the new development
Upland Way Site Plan, Application 21394.
I’ve noted my concerns and the reason I’m strongly opposed to this development below:
The proposed North Entrance will increase traffic significantly in the Baxter Square
subdivision. Children and residents safety will dramatically and effectively decrease due to
the potential significant increase in traffic.
Currently, the streets are already overcrowded from the current residents parking on the
streets in Baxter Square Subdivision. This proposed North Entrance will only increase the
parking issues and safety concerns for all residents and children in the area due to
overflow of people of the proposed development parking on Renee Way. The proposal
eliminates parking spaces on Renee Way which in effect adds to the parking and safety
issues.
I’m also extremely concerned about the potential decrease to safety and increase in crime
in the area due to the additional number of people living and having immediate access to
the Baxter Square Subdivision.
It has come to my attention that this area has several protected species of animals and
rare trees. I’m surprised the City of Bozeman would even contemplate this development
whereby eliminating habitats and trees that make Bozeman special.
This development seems more like urban development for a larger city grappling with
space/land to place a development or add housing for residents. I’m sure there are plenty
of alternate areas in Bozeman that would provide the access to the development while
not adding to traffic safety, parking, crime, or other potential issues.
Please accept this email as being in strong opposition for the Upland Way Site Plan, Application
21394.
Should you have any questions, or would like to discuss further, please do not hesitate to contact
