REPORT TO:Urban Parks & Forestry Board
FROM:Addi Jadin, Park Planning and Development Manager
SUBJECT:Update on the Parks, Recreation and Active Transportation Plan
MEETING DATE:April 28, 2022
AGENDA ITEM TYPE:Citizen Advisory Board/Commission
RECOMMENDATION:None
STRATEGIC PLAN:6.5 Parks, Trails & Open Space: Support the maintenance and expansion of
an interconnected system of parks, trails and open spaces.
BACKGROUND:The existing citywide plan for parks and trails is the 2007 Parks, Recreation,
Open Space and Trails Plan (PROST). In 2021, the Parks and Recreation
Department together with the Transportation Division of Engineering has
embarked on a new comprehensive plan called the Parks, Recreation and
Active Transportation Plan (PRAT). The purpose of this plan is to create an
overarching document that assesses and makes recommendations to
provide for sufficient parkland, trails, and recreation/ aquatics programs and
facilities for Bozeman citizens. It will also guide the expansion of these
essential services as the community grows and changes.
