Greetings: We saw the notice in the paper about Public Works getting ready to "flow" the fire hydrants. I realize that this is necessary for fire safety and that it helps clear storm drains. Whether this is the "best practice" for clearing storm drains is another question. But, with respect to the water flow itself, may we ask how the water flow is monitored? Is there anyway to reduce the flow and still accomplish the necessary tasks? I ask because (we bet) in only a few weeks the City will be asking residents to curtail water usage. Maybe the Citycould help model water conservation by cutting back just a titch on the release of already treated water to flush the system? Thanks very much, Bob and Kiki Rydell622 South Grand Ave.
