The proposed addition seeks to create an accessory dwelling unit while rejuvenating
the appearance of the existing garage. The ground level will extend north to create an
entrance to the ADU from the exterior and to the east to create a storage space. The
carport adds a protected parking spot on the site for the ADU. The overall purpose of this
design is to increase living quarters and enhance the experience of the building’s exterior.
Detailed Alterations
1. Update the existing garage’s appearance
2. Remove existing garage roof
3. Create an ADU above the garage
4. Extend the garage footprint north for the ADU entrance
5. Create a storage space under the ADU to the east of existing garage
6. Construct carport for protected parking off alley for ADU
