Dear City Commissioners:
We are no longer a small city in which a few fireworks going off were just part of the summer.To allow fireworks to be used for 3-4 days, with huge blasts going off unexpectedly at
virtually any time of the day or night, is dangerous, annoying, and unnecessary. There isevidence that wildlife, particularly birds, are disturbed. Pets are terrified. Given how dry
conditions were last summer, and may be again this year, it is also a fire hazard.
I would like to propose that you change the regulation for fireworks, limiting it to one day,July 4. I believe that many of our citizens would agree.
I appreciate how hard you all work, and your dedication during this very strange time we've all
been living through. Thank you for stepping up to positions of leadership and responsibility.
